FILIT Regional European Conference on cross-border procedures in matrimonial matters and parental responsibility related to the provisions of the Brussels II bis Regulation and the legislative innovations brought by the Brussels II ter Regulation
Between 8 and 9 June 2022, I participated in the FILIT Regional Conference in #Rome, a European project dedicated to lawyers specialized in cross-border procedures.
This conference, followed by a case study workshop, aimed to provide lawyers with the opportunity to keep abreast of developments in European family law and, at the same time, to exchange information with each other.
Specifically, some specialists analyzed European legislation, and the workshop on case studies on the execution of punishments by parents in a cross-border context closed the event.
Regulation 2201/2203 known as Brussels IIbis established the rules on jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of court decisions in matters of civil and parental responsibility.
A first working committee dealt with the experience gained in relation to the application of the aforementioned Regulation. I remind you that it was amended in 2019: EU Regulation 2019/1111 of June 25, which enters into force on August 1, 2022.
The second working committee focused on legislative developments. In the end, the practical workshop helped us understand the theoretical part better.
In short, every opportunity to learn and improve legal concepts is a privilege for any lawyer who practices his profession with respect, responsibility and passion. ⚖️ #UNBR #EIPA
